Ski Tours In France? In USA? Ski & Tourism In France? In USA? Ski & Gastronomy |
After your ski vacation, take advantage of our Extended package to spend a couple of days in Paris or Lyon before you fly home. It's a wonderful opportunity to discover (or rediscover!) one of two exceptional French cities where you can steep yourself in history, take in a few museums and exhibits, or simply give yourself over to the pleasures of window shopping, people watching and, of course, fine dining.
The Lyon Extended Package
By postponing your departure from Saturday morning to Monday morning, you can enjoy two nights and one and a half days in the capital of the Gauls, a beautiful city built on the banks of two rivers (the Rhône and the Saône). Stroll through Old Lyon, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and along the Saône river banks up to la Presqu'Île, (the peninsula), a point of land that is the modern center of the city. Here you will find elegant boutiques offering the country's most prestigious luxury goods. Dinner at a typical "bouchon lyonnais" will give you a special glimpse of local cuisine in a city known for its gastronomy. You will leave Lyon on Monday to get to the Satolas airport or Charles De Gaulle (CDG) in Paris, a two-hour train trip from Lyon aboard the high speed TGV.
We have selected three hotels, each one ideally situated in the heart of Lyon:

Take advantage of your trip to the French Alps and discover or rediscover the most visited city in the world: Paris. We suggest an extension of 3 nights in Paris, from Saturday afternoon to Tuesday morning. You will get to Paris from the Lyon Satolas TGV Train Station on a TGV (the French high-speed train), which goes approximately 163 MPH!
Then, you will arrive in the center of Paris at the Gare de Lyon (the Lyon Train Station; named after the city because all trains arriving come from Lyon), where you can take a short taxi ride to one of our selected hotels. Or, we can arrange for a private car with a chauffeur to pick you up the train station, for an extra charge. These hotels are all located in the historic heart of Paris, either on the superb Ile St. Louis or on the Rue de Rivoli.
From your hotel, you can easily visit museums, exhibits, and other worth-while attractions; or simply walk along the Seine River and enjoy the nearby shopping. The only bad thing about Paris is that there is never enough time to do it all!
Tuesday morning you will take a private car directly, from your hotel, to the Charles de Gaulle airport to head back home.
The hotels that we have selected are (This list is non-exhaustive; there are other hotels that we can recommend.):
